Let me tell you about one of my favorite plants - the peace lily. When treated correctly, the peace lily has beautiful, lush leaves with blooming white flowers.
When thirsty, the peace lily wilts its leaves and when overwatered, the peace lily's leaves turn yellow. When the peace lily wants more light, it moves toward the sun.
As it is a delicate plant, when left in the sun for too long, the leaves will begin to burn. The peace lily requires precise care in order to protect its peace. It seems high maintenance, but the plant knows exactly what it likes and will not settle for less.
As you gain more self awareness, begin to pay attention to your environment. Is it supporting your elevation or hindering it? Are there any distractions preventing you from taking care of your responsibilities? One thing to take heed of is that you are only as elevated as your environment and those you allow around you.

I was born in New Jersey and had lived there for 22 years since birth. It was the only home I knew. As a child, I loved thrill rides and rollercoaster. As I got older, my adventurous spirit looked to hiking. At each spot, there’s always a new view. The work it takes to get to the view just makes it so much sweeter. After exploring most of the east coast states, it felt like change was necessary. 2020 hit hard with the pandemic, a delayed college graduation, and a job layoff. It was then my partner and I decided to plan the move to Colorado. In the midst of chaos, it felt as if the pieces of my life began to come together.
The video above was taken during January 2021 in Evergreen, CO.
After a 26 hour drive, we finally arrived in Colorado. I had never visited before deciding to move so everything was new to me. Even though, we were in the Denver area, the mountains were the first thing to catch my eye. They sat gracefully in the background of Colorado’s everyday life.
With a new chapter of my life starting, I began to reflect on the last chapter. Being able to look at my life from a different perspective allowed me to see the different distractions that prevented me from reaching my highest potential at the time. One of the hardest pills to swallow was that the biggest distraction was myself.
Before blaming anyone for stopping you, remember that you allowed that energy and behavior to remain in your life. You are in charge of your reality. With that being said, if you are unhappy at the moment, reflect on what you’ve been doing to get yourself in this situation. If this situation was inevitable or unavoidable, what can you do to elevate and transmute your energy?
Reaching your highest self means that you must find the environment that works best for your energy. Learn to trust yourself and reject energy that does not mix well with yours. Remove yourself from any people, places, and things that prevent you from achieving your goals and moving in your purpose. Remember that you must change the energy that you move in. Switch up your routine, figure out what changes need to be made in your daily life for you to be able to operate in your highest energy, and then do it!
