Anti-Inflammatory Face Mask

This DIY anti-inflammatory face mask features oat flour, calendula, chamomile, and shiitake mushroom powder among other powerful ingredients to help combat redness and acne breakouts. The ingredients list and instructions are located below.

Ingredients

12 oz Filtered Water

1 tbsp Chamomile

1 tbsp Calendula

1/4 cup Flax Seeds

2 tbsp Oat Flour

1 tbsp Kaolin Clay

1 tbsp Shiitake Mushroom Powder

1 tsp Ground Cloves

1 tbsp Glycerin

1/2 tbsp Honey

Instructions

1. Boil 8 oz of water. Once the water is boiled, add 1 tbsp of chamomile and 1 tbsp of calendula into a heat safe container. Cover it and allow to steep for at least 15 minutes, but no more than 1 hour.

2. Add 4 oz of water to a pan with 1/4 cup of flax seeds. Place the stove on medium heat and stir continuously to avoid burning the flax seeds. Once the flax seed gel starts bubbling, remove it from the heat source and strain immediately. I'd recommend using a fine strainer as the flax seeds may be able to escape through bigger holes.

3. Combine all dry ingredients into a bowl: 2 tbsp oat flour, 1 tbsp kaolin clay, 1 tbsp shiitake mushroom powder, and 1 tsp ground cloves.

4. Add all wet ingredients into the bowl: 1/4 cup flaxseed gel, 3 tsp chamomile & calendula tea, 1 tbsp glycerin, and 1/2 tbsp honey.

5. Whisk together all ingredients until a homogenous mixture is present.

Directions

1. Wash your hands and face prior to using the Anti-Inflammatory Mask.

2. Apply the mask to your face and allow it to sit for 10 to 15 minutes.

3. After removing the mask, resume your face routine as normal. If you do not have a face routine, apply a face moisturizer to your skin.
